Great all-purpose bird foodDec 07, 2013
I typically buy a bag of this a week from Amazon. I've been through 20+ and never had a problem with bug infestation. Comes in a resealable bag, although the ziplock isn't the best I've encountered. This definitely attracts woodpeckers and nuthatches but also cardinals, chickadees, house finches, and other song birds. I think it's a great value if you're looking for a seed that has fruit pieces and nuts. Note: despite the chili pepper on the bag, squirrels love this mix, too. Don't buy it as squirrel repellant - you'll be disappointed. I've also left a review on the Wild Delight woodpecker food - I have feeder jamming problems with both, but this one is considerably better (I think because it has fewer nuts).

If you want to attract woodpeckers: buy this foodJan 25, 2014
By JP McGee
I was skeptical upon buying this food because I didn't believe it would actually attract woodpeckers. I'd seen one in the trees by my home and really wanted to be able to feed and watch him up close. After adding this food to my feeder it took about a week before the pair of woodpeckers started coming to the window feeder. A few weeks later another pair started using the feeder and just this past week a third has shown up. I'm so happy to be able to see these beautiful birds up close eating and playing.
I highly recommend if you have woodpeckers in the area and are looking to attract them.
There is also a woodpecker cake called "Pine Tree Farms 1480 Woodpecker Seed Cake, 2.5 Pounds" that they seem to love as well. It's a huge block so make sure you have a feeder it will fit in prior to ordering. My woodpeckers love both and hopefully come spring time I'll have some little ones coming to the feeders.

Beware squirrels will eat itJan 26, 2014
Although, the food contains cayenne pepper to deter the squirrels they are constantly eating this food. I think anything with corn in it will attract squirrels.
This food does attract woodpeckers as promised and have seen both the red headed and the one with the houndstooth feathers.

Excellent food to attract WoodpeckersSep 02, 2013
By Joe Boy
I found this Woodpecker food the best in attracting our local Louisiana Woodpeckers. I place some on the ground and will see the Red-Cockaded Woodpecker. I have a large above ground Bird feeder, when filled with the Bird Lover's Blend will attract our Red-Billed Woodpecker, and the Red-Headed Woodpeckers.
Contains Hot Pepper SeedsJul 12, 2014
Contains hot pepper seeds to keep the squirrels away, but it also kept the birds away. When I used this seed most of the birds I feed stopped coming to my bird feeders.
